Food is For Everyone

I have often been told I am a good cook. That is always a great compliment, but I sometimes hesitate to accept it. For a long time, I struggled to make food for everyone I loved, and now I am proud to say that I can.

It started with cooking for the Girl Scouts. My daughter asked if my husband and I could help her out. We had to take a food safety class, and I learned a lot about how to be both safe and inclusive in my cooking. Those times were always fun because I could see the joy in people when they were fueled enough to have fun.

6 years ago this became a lot more real when Bryson came into my life. Bryson and some of his family have celiac. I learned quickly that gluten-free isn’t a preference – it's protection. It’s cross-contamination checks, clean surfaces, and ingredients you can trust.  When I started cooking gluten-free meals, I suddenly started checking labels on the broth, soy sauce, and marinades. Gluten hides in places you’d never expect, so I learned to scan labels like it’s second nature.  I cook a lot of traditional meals but have learned how to make some of those meals gluten-free for a very special person.

Now I can confidently say I have made food for those who need sugar-free, gluten-free, and many other dietary restrictions. I cook with love, and I am happy that I can share that love with everyone now. If you ever have a question or a dietary request, either reach out here, or message me! I am happy to talk it out with whatever we can make together. Food is for everyone and should be enjoyed as such.
